The audacity of a textile ennoblement industrialist!
The Bontemps brand came to life in Villers-Outréaux, a small town deep in the heart of Cambrésis, a region traditionally specialised in embroidery. The company’s main activity is textile finishing, better known as textile ennoblement, an industrial technique consisting of adding value to the fabric through a series of mechanical and chemical processes.
In 2006, Dominique Bontemps took the decision to diversify his company’s activities. He created a digital printing department, using his own and the company’s competencies to develop a printing technique for noble materials such as linen, silk and cotton.
Armed with a soupçon of recklessness, a healthy dose of willpower, a growing passion and a devoted team, Géraldine Douay went ahead and launched a line of fashion and home accessories. From the very start, Claudine Verdot, a textile designer, worked by her side, creating decorative motifs that would come to life through the company’s textiles. With the passing of each season, the Bontemps style increased to assert itself, interpreting fashion trends with true originality and drawing its inspiration from both naturalistic and modern sources. The beautifully elaborated colours are found in a variety of patterns and drawings and adapted to each product.
The brand’s collections were soon born and fall into two categories which complement each other:
- fashion accessories: handbags weekend bags, clutch bags, scarves...
- home textile accessories: cushions, tête à tête table runners, dinner table runners, tablecloths
Today the BONTEMPS brand is both recognized and appreciated. It is present at 200 points of sale both in France and abroad and is exported to various continents from Europe to Asia to Australia.
